There is a difference between a photographer who can find your venue and one who has already worked in it. The second one knows where the light dies at 7 PM, which wall photographs flat, and what to ask the DJ for before the first dance instead of during it.

Vive Banquet Hall is the one we know best — ten celebrations there in 2025 alone, across both the Moreno Valley and Perris rooms. They are not the same room in photographs. Moreno Valley has a textured wave wall behind the head table that takes on whatever colour the uplighting is set to, and a white marble dance floor that bounces light back up into faces — until people start dancing on it, which is exactly why the first dance and the family photos belong early. Perris runs LED cove lighting across the whole ceiling, which is beautiful in the room and tints everything magenta in a camera unless you bring your own light.

We have also shot at Kimberly Crest House in Redlands, at Rancho Las Palmas, and at Rancho Quitasueños in Jurupa Valley, and we cover the Riverside and San Bernardino courthouses for couples who want the ceremony without the production around it.

If your venue is not on that list, that is genuinely fine — most of them were not, once. It just means we will walk it before your date instead of on it.

The Inland Empire is not coastal Southern California and your timeline should not pretend it is. Summer afternoons out here run past 100 degrees, which decides more about your day than most couples expect: it is why outdoor ceremonies move late, why the getting-ready room needs air conditioning and not just good light, and why the portraits everybody imagines at 3 PM actually happen at 7.

Golden hour moves by roughly three hours between June and December here. A timeline copied from a friend's summer wedding will put your portraits in the dark if you marry in December, and a December timeline will put them in hard overhead sun in July. It is the single most common planning mistake we see, and it costs the photographs people care most about.

Indoors it inverts. Most banquet halls in the region are lit from flat ceiling panels, which is even, shadowless and does nothing for a face. That is a photographer's problem to solve rather than yours — but it is worth asking anyone you are considering how they light a reception, because "natural light only" is not an answer at 8 PM in November.

We build the timeline backwards from sunset on your specific date, then work forward from there. It is the same approach laid out in our hour-by-hour wedding day timeline, and it is why the light in these galleries looks consistent across seasons.
