A mini session is a short, focused photography appointment — typically 20–30 minutes — at a pre-selected location. Because several families or couples are photographed consecutively at the same location on the same day, photographers can offer a lower per-session price than a full custom booking. The tradeoff is less flexibility on location and fewer final images.

Mini sessions work best when you have a clear vision of what you need: a handful of beautiful photos of your family, a few romantic couple portraits, or maternity images at a specific point in your pregnancy. They're efficient and focused — 20 minutes, a beautiful setting, edited images delivered within 2 weeks.

Tierra y Flor Mini Sessions: Our Annual Event

Each year we host Tierra y Flor — our signature mini session event. It's held at a curated outdoor location in the Inland Empire, styled with natural floral elements and golden-hour lighting. Sessions are 20 minutes and start at $280, with a limited number of spots available. Past locations have included open hillsides in Jurupa Valley and flower fields in the Riverside area.

Mini sessions start at $280 for a 20-minute session with a curated gallery of 15–20 edited images delivered digitally. All images are high-resolution and print-ready. We don't offer packages with prints built in — you keep the digital files and print wherever you choose.

How to Prepare for Your Mini Session

The number one thing you can do to make your mini session successful: coordinate outfits ahead of time. You don't need to match exactly, but colors should complement each other. Earth tones, soft neutrals, and muted palettes photograph beautifully against natural outdoor backgrounds. Avoid busy patterns and logos.

For families with small children: arrive 5 minutes early so kids can explore the space before we start shooting. The first few minutes of a session are always an adjustment period — and with a 20-minute window, those minutes matter. A quick run around the location burns off energy and usually leads to more natural, smiling kids in photos.

When Mini Sessions Are Available

We host mini session events 2–3 times per year, typically in spring and fall when the light and weather in Riverside are optimal.
